Field Trip Season!

It is now officially field trip season here at Oaklawn.  All grade levels will be going on a field trip.  Field trip permission slips are located in your Parent Portal.  They are very easy to complete once you learn the process.  If you have any questions the office can walk you through the process with you.  Financial assistance is available.  Please contact your child's teacher for more information.

Late to school?

If your child is late to school, more than 10 minutes, they are considered absent....NOT tardy.  If your child is marked absent you need to contact the school office to make the absence excused.  Even if your child is only 15 minutes late to school, 5 Unexcused absences is considered Habitual Truant.

Elementary School Attendance Expectations

  • Elementary school day runs from 7:45 a.m.-2:45 p.m.
  • Supervision starts on the playground at 7:30 a.m.
  • Students line up with their classrooms at 7:40 a.m.
  • Students are expected to be in their seats at 7:45 a.m.
  • 7:45-7:55 is tardy, anything 7:56 and beyond is unexcused unless a parent contacts the office to excuse the absence.

Back 2 School Help for Families in Need

As we look ahead to the 2024-2025 school year, we want to remind families of the annual Oshkosh Back 2 School Fair. This event provides free school supplies, clothing, shoes, hygiene kits, and haircuts for students in grades 4K-12 from income-eligible families.

When and Where:

The Fair is held each August at Oshkosh North High School. See FLYER for dates and details.

How to Apply:

Space is limited and available only to families who meet certain income requirements. If you think your family would benefit, apply now for the 2024-2025 school year using the online form at

Questions? Email

The Back 2 School Fair is made possible through a collaborative effort by many community organizations, including ADVOCAP, Boys & Girls Club, Oshkosh Area United Way, Oshkosh schools, UW-Oshkosh, and more.

Don't miss this opportunity to get your student ready for the new school year! We look forward to supporting Oshkosh families in need.
